'nick', our autopilot is driving. It drove in light air to give us more cycles to trim the sails. Our gas cans are below in the cockpit because they fell overboard , so we had to retrieve a surfing gas can and a broken manoverboard pole (water went into the tube and dragged it out). We recovered and fixed both ultimately. Note that we were always tethered in and wearing a life-jacket when up on deck.
at that time, we are using the main inboard bucket as our head... (read: toilet...)
Day 3, we put the spinnaker up. There wasn't much wind and in light air, we could easily reach with our chute. Nat is actively trimming it while driving on my watch. Note that we stop using the tiller extension at that time. The spinnaker made a huge difference in light air. We were sometimes struggling in 3-4 knots of boat speed, we now achieve above 5...ahem...yes, it's a race ...
We use the 'foot technique' to cleat back the sheet
Nat waking up and getting ready for her shift (read: work on her hairdo)
