Dinghies are a ton of fun and very tactical sailing - not a ton of sail controls in a lot of them but boat handling, balance, weight management and tactics are huge.

Elise also finished 40 out of a little over 80 PHRF finishers but over 150 boats signed up. A lot of boats dropped out of the race when the wind got really light. It was a really really interesting race!

[[posterous-content:pid___0]] I have great respect for Race Committee people...they get cold and wet for the benefit of racers...Hats off to them...[[posterous-content:pid___1]] A race committee boat typically has lots of flags flying (at least the boats by the line)  as they have to hoist course and class flags...and sometimes postponment flags and all sorts of other flags...[[posterous-content:pid___2]] this gives you an idea of the weather on Saturday...pretty dreary[[posterous-content:pid___3]] Rounding the windward mark [[posterous-content:pid___4]] Pumpkin!!! this is so cool!![[posterous-content:pid___5]] Rounding the windward mark and hoisting the spinnaker [[posterous-content:pid___6]][[posterous-content:pid___7]] downwind, Elise is second from left. this was in race 1[[posterous-content:pid___8]] Elise/Opa![[posterous-content:pid___9]] Elise rounding the windward mark in race 1.
