Quick updates on Elise's health

Elise has
  • Mast back up and rig tuned
  • A new port primary winch
  • A new port cabin top winch
  • A new switch for the steaming light
  • Nicely labeled switches on the instrument panel that actually corresponds to the instrument it powers up...
  • A 2nd switch panel for autopilot 2 and SSB switch (even though I am not sure that we will ever need the SSB again...looks like small boat and double-handers didn't have to carry one at this year's Pac Cup)
  • A new topping lift (the last one got badly chewed up during Coastal Cup)
  • A nice new green LED for the starboard magnetic compass
Elise's 3/4 spinnaker needs to be fixed up (it started to tear somewhere in the middle under heavy winds during Coastal Cup, we switched to France, which did just fine as it is a lot stronger obviously)

Elise will be getting
  • A nice new green LED for the port magnetic compass
  • A nice new switch for the stereo...(finally...)
  • Some new compass oil as one of the compasses needs a little refill
Upcoming todos on a couple of boat work days
  • Unload the rest of the gear from Coastal Cup (change down to the smaller engine)
  • Label the second switch panel
  • Clean up boat (residual mildew + salt in places we didn't touch after Coastal Cup)
  • Re-varnish inside wood panels
  • Re-bed port shroud chainplate (was leaking during Coastal Cup)
  • Remove tape from forward hatch (we use tape to ensure complete water tightness of the forward hatch during long distance ocean racing)
  • Clean and scrub bottom
  • Seal cable entry at the base of the mast (it's supposed to be water tight but it really isn't)
  • Clean up connection bus bar near the starboard battery
  • Fix a couple of chips in the gelcoat that I noticed last time in the cockpit...maybe some mishandling of the life raft??)
  • Fix the end of the 2nd reefing line (by burning it)
  • Refill the hot knife with gas
  • Put up a speedlog repeater on the mast
