A sea lion tried to board Elise off Point Conception - must have thought we were a channel marker. It jumped on deck, didn't expect the lifeline and human company and fell back into the water
And a group of dolphins accompanied us into the Santa Barbara channel until the wind died. They probably got very bored when we slowed down under 5 knots...
We saw a baby sea lion in a really bad shape (beat up) at the docks at the Santa Barbara marina. I hadn't noticed it but it called right as I was walking by... Got some fish for it and called Marine rescue so they could take care of it. I got the smallest fish I could find (bought fresh directly from the fishermen) but it was still pretty big for the cub. It tried to swallow it whole but when it didn't make it past its mouth, realized it'd have to chew it up.
