Productive Day on Elise

Serge, Nathan and I did some work on the boat

  • Connected all instruments to the new panel up from the battery and installed the splash guard
  • Cleaned up all wires inside the nav table and ran power cables for the autopilot and the instruments so they are ready to be connected to a terminal block
  • Connected ground cables to a new screwed on terminal block near the autopilot panel, out of the way
  • Ran both ground and power cables for autopilot and instrument along the hull and under the companionway so they are 'high' instead of low and under the hatch boards. Lower risk of corrosion we hope
  • Drilled holes and resined them in preparation for the new mount for the tiller autopilot (the spare autopilot for Elise)
  • Debugged some issue with the topoff solar panel (the battery wasn't being charged)
  • Varnished the wooden panels alongside the companionway hatch
  • Put starboard quarterberth back into groove (thanks Jason! some pro tools help)
  • Labeled the jib halyard on the port clutch
  • Jason also changed the color of one of the pole trip lines to blue (the other one is an elegant pink) and shortened them
