CYC Midwinters February - Saturday Solo

Getting Elise ready in the morning with Serge. Elise's caretaker

Setting up the engine.

Tiller Doomsday. The other driver of the day.

Getting the #2 hooked up.

Practicing my distress signals, just in case...

All right. Now we mean business.

Trying to sail over to the start line but given the amount of wind available in the morning, might be wishful thinking

Photo by Nathan Bossett: It was a mean ebb and ever changing wind speed which meant constant adjusting of the jib

Photo by Nathan Bossett. I was the last Express to finish in barely no wind with a mean ebb. Tried to stay on the right side of a current line most of the way from the last mark to the finish. Oh boy. Elise's lines are so beautiful.

We had company when we took the boat out of the water.

On the way back to the Club after the finish

Well, Elise did cross the finish lne I guess...As you can see the winds got lighter in the back which is where the finish line was.

Lunch - cheese from the Pyrenees! Delicious!!

In current. In light air. But pushing through it.
