Drakes Bay - heading back to the Club
Heading back to the Club meant really light air close to Tiburon and Richardson Bay, then really heavy air as we cross over. Since we were not racing anymore, we didn't want to switch to the jib for such a short distance. We knew Elise would be slightly overpowered but she could take it. There was also a strong ebb which allowed us to steer very low (so the boat wasn't hard against the wind and actually quite able to fly the genoa), particularly after we steered really high (basically toward the bridge) in the light air stuff.
