Delta Ditch Run Photos (2010)

All photos courtesy of Ultimate Yachtshots

I think that we mentioned that the weather wasn't really very Run friendly on Delta Ditch Run day. I had dressed in my Delta Ditch Run clothes, just to make a statement and I ended up with a wet butt very quickly as the chop broke over the deck with stunning regularity upwind.

After a short while and realizing that we would have to pound through the waves for a really long time if we wanted to make it all the way to Stockton, we turned around and enjoyed some nice good warm and dry downwind. I had enough time to dry my butt out before we reached Sam's.

Here's to us setting up the spinnaker

Nat running the sheet/guy along the deck and setting up the twings.

Roger runs the downhaul (that holds the spinnaker pole down)

Nat and Nicolas get the pole ready. Nat will pull on the topping lift which will raise the pole. We are still going upwind then...

Nat hooks up the pole, Nicolas secures the topping lift (and Roger cleats in the downhaul)
Spinnaker is up (Nat jumped it at the mast) and Nicolas is getting ready to release the jib halyard (the red line on this photo) to take the jib down.

Spinnaker is up and Nat and Roger fiddle around with the topping lift to move up the top of the pole.

Nat pulls on the topping lift and Roger stands by...

Aaaah, finally a moment of dryness....and my downwind gear is now coming in handy

Worth celebrating with Pop Tarts...

Nathan is very busy driving...he was wearing his upwind gear...
