Baja Ha Ha projects

Since there wasn't a lot of sailing to do, we had time for projects. Nathan and Daniel did a lot of work on the engine - the electrical system and the water system.

The boat has a lot of systems - and they can all go wrong. On a racing boat, you minimize the number of systems so you don't have a lot that can go wrong unless it is a system you really need for your race...

Mark doing laundry and taking a 'bath' in the ocean while at anchor

Daniel putting up a line up the mast

Cleaning up some electrical connections

Daniel and Nathan going to pick up more gas in Cabo San Lucas

Megan and Daniel left the forward hatch open and it took a wave. Drying out the sheets offered a special shelter for Nathan

Laundry day!

I too went up the mast to fix up some lines

Nathan fixed up most of the electronics on board

We had to fix the toilet twice in two weeks...

The other thing with the boat is that it needs HUGE amounts of power. When on Elise I am worried about a 17 amp spike for the autopilot, Crescendo gets 150 Amps to charge up her freezer.

With only two solar panels, most of the needs of the boat needed to be met by the engine.
