Serge replaced a high tech a little too stretchy line that we had used for a jib halyard with a less high tech and less stretchy line that we will use as a jib halyard. Serge then went up the mast with our spare halyard which we set up externally (it can be used as either a jib/spinnaker spare halyard or a spare main halyard) for long distance offshore races. View from aloft Nat and Nathan rocked the boat (movements are amplified at the top and 200 pound aloft was definitely making things a lot worse :)) it sounds like Serge had a great ime though! You can see the spare halyard that is attached to Serge's harness. One side is attached below, and Serge will come down with the other side after it's been put through the sheave mounted on the side of the mast. Nat was winching Serge up the mast (on the main halyard, we use the jib halyard as a safety line) Icarus Serge trying to get to the sun
