This is the 10 to 60 nm forecast passing through the Gulf of the Farallons. Right after the Gate, forecast is 10 to 20, and 5 to 10 in the morning on the Bay.
This could be an awesome race - pretty perfect conditions for an Express 27. Not a super comfortable upwind as it can get kind of wet in heavier breeze but the boat moves - and the downwind with this kind of swell and wind would be fantastic surfing conditions, if it holds of course. At the last Coastal Cup, we really noted that the boat takes off past 22-23 knots of wind, anything less feels a little slow, even though the boat is moving nicely - just not the 'I am riding a motorbike' kind of feeling that's so exhilarating. Nat will be wearing a bike helmet and doesn't want to hear anyone laugh.
SAT NW WINDS 15 TO 25 KT. WIND WAVES 3 TO 5 FT. NW SWELL 8 TO 10 FT AT 10 SECONDS. SAT NIGHT NW WINDS 15 TO 25 KT. WIND WAVES 3 TO 4 FT IN THE EVENING...BECOMING 2 FT OR LESS. NW SWELL 6 TO 8 FT AT 10 SECONDS.
