Berkeley Midwinters - January

When I got back from vacation, I was so happy to get back on the water? Wet weekend but only a tiny actual shower. Light winds, that almost died as we got closer to the club on our way back but we managed to make it without having to use the engine.

Nathan drove, Scott did foredeck, Caitlin pit, Suzanne and I trim and I did tactics (well tried to). We were way too far off the start line for a good start, good sailing in light air, including almost nothing but not quite current drifting and we picked up a few boats at the windward mark that way. We *missed* the mark at the leeward mark (not sure why) - so not great results but the goal was to train up Suzanne and Caitlin, new Beethovens.

Pensive after the race.

Nathan was tired after driving for the race.

While Nathan was asleep the rest of the skillfully sailed the boat home in really light air and heavy current. Caitlin did foredeck under the expert supervision of Scott.

On the way back

Enjoying the galette des rois!

Suzanne drove most of the way back and through four jibes.
