That day, we took Archimedes, Elise and Bandicoot out of the water and to the Matson yard. It took the entire day. We met up around 730 at Larry's house, I drove the pickup truck, towing the little tender that would tow the boat to the dock where the truck with the crane would end up being.
Larry is an incredibly skilled crane operator. It was windy and yet he was able to delicately pick up the masts, the boats and drop them on their trailer. Elise suffered a minor gelcoat scratch at the front of the keel but that was the only 'damage' of the day.
We then spent some time securing the rig on the boat so they could be trailered, filling out paperwork, looking at Matson yard employees taking measurements, weighing the boats, etc...
It took the entire day.
George, Joe, Larry, Al and I gathered in a nearby restaurant for a 4pm lunch and we drove back to Princeville - I drove Larry's pickup truck on the way back as well, still towing the tender.
Long long day in the sun as squalls hit mainly late evening and during the night, much like they did in the ocean.
Tomorrow, for the first time since I arrived, I will be able to rest. Nothing will happen on the boat front for the next three weeks.
