Work Weekend on Elise

We are still cleaning up the electrical system of Elise - moving all connections to dryer areas and packed into splash-protected boxes. We also fixed up some more of the cracks in the gelcoat near the cockpit area, something that happens after prolonged exposure to UV (it takes a primer to penetrates through the cracks and replace the gelcoat before it spreads further and start posing structural issues and then a coat of paint to protect the primer)

10

Accomplished:

  • All siperweb cracks now treated
  • All new battery cables completed and connected, including cables for the big battery (mainly used for offshore trips and autopilot operation) - this included making some new cables
    7
    6
Installed splash guard for all the cables near the battery
  • 9
  • Removed a couple of unused cables
  • Cleaned up GPS connection and added ground back (for some reason, it went missing and it had lost the GPS)
    2
  • About 50% of the connections ready for the autopilot - missing two connectors to finish it up including making the missing wires, adding new fuse holders on the positive side
  • 1

And a bunch of other small electrical thing
