Boat Work Day - Oct 10 2010

Crew: Nat, Nathan and Michiel

Achievements:

  • Rinsed and dried all docking lines, tow lines and anchor lines + bag
  • Un-twisted and re-ran vang line
  • Removed base of old stern instrument mast (all of our autopilot instruments are at the top of the mast now)
  • Wired up stereo + autopilot 2 to new instrument panel
  • Changed fuseholder (old one was corroded) for main autopilot
  • Mark 0/4, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and 4/4 of the backstay line run out of the main sheet post (that way we can easily adjust the backstay from that post, without having to touch the back line confidently. Nice visual cues
  • Fixed up broken pin on jib car lead and taped up the lead so that the lines will not get caught into them on the tacks
  • Recrewed a broken cup holder
  • Remove loose lines and burned end of existing lines that were all scruffy
  • Removed foreign bodies from the bilge
  • Cleaned up some trash
  • Cleaned 'toilet' bucket
  • Updated first aid kit and added a couple of sponges, ready for bilge cleaning time (next job on the list)
  • Changed broken cotter pin on one of the main sheet blocks
  • Changed 'foam' hiking aid on both sides of the boat
  • Fixed up compass light wooden contraption with another 'project' look
