Trim 2 Guillaume

Driver Nat

Benoit wearing Nat's clothes!!! (including the fleece!!)

Driver Benoit who may need some new glasses to better spot giant tankers. They are a little hard to see a few boatlengths away

Coastal fog on San Francisco Bay getting ready to swallow Sausalito

Doing a good job at it...

The team heading out to the anchorage

The fog was also over the East Bay.

After we anchored (under sail), we enjoyed a fabulous dinner (thanks Benoit)
  • Hot lentil soup
  • Salad with ginger dressing
  • Cold cheese pizza
  • Macademia Nut cookies
  • Cherries
We then all practices knots...

Breakfast was fabulously ripe strawberries and French almond chocolate

Let's see, which knot was a constrictor again?

The kids are asleep - and the cruising cushions are out for the first time in a very very long time!!

At Sam's for lunch

Sam's burger is awesome

What would I do without my morning coffee??

Sam's oyster sandwich

I guess that I like it!

The team!!

Back out sailing for the day into the San Francisco summer...

Guillaume and the gate!

Coast Guard helicopter and Adventure Cat

Practicing a start (with Rohan doing bow)

Going down the city front to find some sun and do some sightseeing

Sailing upwind - on the rail!!!

The car got a little full on the way back - and Benoit and Guillaume became really close friends in the back of the car :-)

Last three photos are courtesy of Serge from Ultimate Yachtshots!! Thank you!

We had to slalom around posts in the harbor as a lot of  J105s and J120s all crammed into the even narrower channel (because of a dredging effort going on), all under engines and us under sail but it was hard to tack in no space ;-) When asked to kindly give us some room a boat said that there wasn't much water ahead (if it is true for them, it is true for us) which we kindly replied that perhaps they could consider putting their engine in reverse (backing your sails is a lot more involved...)

hmm, I am learning new tricks every day, hadn't done slalom yet :-)

Benoit was, just like last time, enchanted by this outing. He LOVED spending the night on the boat. He was durably impressed by the sight of this immense ship targeting Elise... still thinks about that every once in a while. Being a safety-minded person he'll remember next time to not trust his X-ray vision, which seems to be stopped by jibs. Thanks Nat for being such a wonderful host!
