Elise going out of the gate - we were dealing with an oil spill so not sailing aggressively at that time. Also, typically, there is a lot of wind at the gate but nothing afterwards, so a lot of times, we can be overpowered just passing the gate but with the correct headsail for later. Since there was clearly little wind right after the gate, we decided to keep the genoa. Changing sails would have taken too much time.
